TODAY'S DHARMA ( LOVING AND INTEGRATING THE EGO)
We all have a shadow side. This is not a bad thing. A parable comes to mind. The main idea or question this parable asks us is this, Which wolf are you going to feed? We can choose to feed our darker nature or embrace our light. The two are a necessary part of existence. This is a hard pill to swallow. I have had issues with this myself. But we cannot have the light with out the dark. We would not be able to see and experience our light with out the contrast of This does not mean, however, that we let the dark consume us and dim our light. whatever you focus on only grows stronger. So loving and integrating our shadow become crucial to maintaining the balance of energy. We do this through spiritual and emotional alchemy. Just like turning lead into gold, we can turn our darkness to light through loving it and integrating it. Acknowledgement does not mean allowing. We cannot transform what we are unaware of. The earth and water dragon is calling us individually and collectively to create a new foundation that feeds the light instead of the dark. Once we pull the weeds from our garden we must plant new seeds. These are the seeds of light and hope for a better life. We also need to water these seed so they will grow. This is how we can harvest the abundance that is aways here within nature. The last card from the serpent deck is a reminder that all life in the universe ( and even the universe itself), is part of a larger cycle. Everything is in motion, it is law of physics. We are meant to flow with the cycles of life. This is what the Buddha meant by non attachment. Clinging to any part of the cycle only brings suffering.
QUESTIONS TO PONDER
1. What wolf are you feeding?
2. what seeds are you planting and are you willing to water only the ones you wish to grow?
3. can you dance with the ebb and flow of life?
